District 9

District 9 is a very unique movie. Although it isn't the best movie I've saw, it gives you an understanding to how South Africa was and is today. It is about an alien race that gets stranded on the Earth. People go to investigate and later on the humans place the aliens in District 9 to live. District 9 is a classic ghetto, and the aliens there are subject to harsh treatment and no remorse. However, one day a man gets promoted to move the aliens to District 10. This process will change his life. A story full of action and science, this documentary style movie will hit you hard. Furthermore, while watching the movie, make sure to check the hidden symbols that are all throughout the movie such as the secret government organizations, and the harshness of medical experimenting.

Shutter Island

This movie is bound to give your mind a twist. The suspense and horror of "Shutter Island" is so incomprehensible that you have to see it to believe it. In the deep depths of Shutter Island something strange is going on. Mentally ill patients who have committed terrible crimes are disappearing. Marshall Andrew and his partner Chuck head there to figure out what exactly is going on on this island. Filled with graphic scenes from the holocaust, and with disturbing imagery, this movie gives off its suspense and horror feel in a detailed fashion. Personally, although this film was to my taste, I do not recommended it for the people with little tolerance for violence. The psychological and physical torture it shows on people is not good for young children or teenagers. Anyway, have fun watching this movie and pay attention to the twist at the end!

Saw Series

The Saw series. These movies are a hour and a half of arm chopping, leg ripping, head splicing, organ removing, eye shooting, hair dividing, heart stopping, bone crushing, brain swirling, and tongue chewing bloodbath of violence. I personally respect the Saw series for lasting this long, but the plot is so horrible that it makes me sick. However, the graphics and the fascinating traps intrigue me and forces me to watch more. Basically, the Saw series is about an old man who kills people who he decides who does not deserve to live. He murders them through strange ways by manipulating fear and pain. Although you may never watch this series in your life, if you see one movie, you are obligated to see the rest.

Shrek

I am not a big fan of animated movies, but I felt that if I was making a blog about movies, I had to talk about this one. "Shrek" is simply indescribable. There is something about this movie that cannot be put into words. The comedy, the intensity of the story, and the advance computer animations make this movie one of the bests movies in animated history. For those of you who didn't watch this movie, it is about an ogre who goes on a quest to save a princess in distress. If he fails, he will lose his home to a midget called Lord Farquad. Along the way he meets a talking donkey and many other fairy tale creatures. Join him in his fantasy adventure to save his swamp!

Dodgeball

Anyone who has seen this movie will agree with me that this movie was an outstanding comedy. The physical and reference jokes made me burst out with laughter in my seat. The characters are diverse, ranging from a man who believes he is a pirate, to a rejected guy in high school. Although I have seen this movie at least five times, the jokes never seem to get old, and the laughter just continues. My personal favorite part of the movie was when Average Joes got plummeted by some girl scout girls. If you did not see the movie, the movie "Dodgeball" is basically a story about a group of people who decide to save their gym by competing in a national dodge ball competition. The team is not very athletic or talented, but we can see their development through outstanding action and comedy.
